Synopsis

Buku ini menyajikan panduan lengkap tentang pengelolaan diabetes melitus tipe II, mulai dari pemahaman dasar hingga strategi praktis yang dapat diterapkan sehari-hari. Bab pertama menguraikan pentingnya mengenal diabetes tipe II melalui data statistik global dan dampaknya terhadap kesehatan masyarakat. Selanjutnya, pembaca diajak untuk memahami bagaimana diabetes tipe II berkembang sebagai "silent killer," termasuk peran insulin dan metabolisme gula darah.

Buku ini juga memberikan fokus pada diet dan aktivitas fisik sebagai kunci menjaga keseimbangan gula darah, termasuk panduan diet 3J (Jumlah, Jenis, dan Jadwal) serta tips aktivitas fisik ringan yang efektif. Bab-bab lainnya membongkar mitos umum tentang diabetes, menawarkan panduan praktis menu sehat, dan menyajikan kisah inspiratif dari penderita diabetes yang berhasil mengelola kondisinya. Penjelasan tentang penghitungan karbohidrat dan indeks glikemik membantu pembaca memahami pengelolaan nutrisi secara ilmiah. Buku ini ditutup dengan pembahasan tentang mencegah komplikasi, pentingnya peran keluarga, dan langkah sederhana untuk menjalani gaya hidup sehat, menjadikannya panduan esensial bagi penderita diabetes maupun keluarga mereka.

Author Biographies

Dr. Joko Sapto Pramono, SKp., MPHM., Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Kalimantan Timur

Dr. Joko Sapto Pramono, SKp., MPHM. adalah seorang perawat dan dosen (Lektor Kepala) pada Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Kalimantan Timur. Menempuh Pendidikan:   Sekolah Perawat Kesehatan Depkes Samarinda lulus tahun 1987, Akademi Keperawatan (Keguruan) Pajajaran Bandung lulus pada tahun 1992, S-1 Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan Universitas Indonesia, lulus pada tahun 1998,    S-2 Master Primary Health Care Management, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand lulus pada tahun 2000 dan S-3 Doktor Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat pada Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar  lulus pada tahun 2024. Riwayat pekerjaan: sebagai perawat   di Rumah Sakit Islam Samarinda pada tahun 1988-1989 dan 1992-1993.  Sebagai  guru di Sekolah Perawat Kesehatan Depkes Samarinda tahun 1992-1998, dosen pada Akademi Keperawatan Depkes Samarinda pada tahun 1998-2001, dan  dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Kalimantan Timur tahun 2001 hingga saat ini.

Kurniati Dwi Utami, S.Gz, MPH. tertarik terhadap ilmu gizi dimulai pada tahun 2006 silam. Hal tersebut membuat penulis memilih untuk masuk ke Universitas Gadjah Mada  dengan memilih Jurusan Gizi dan Kesehatan dan berhasil lulus pada tahun 2010. Penulis kemudian melanjutkan pendidikan S2 ke Perguruan Tinggi  dan  menyelesaikan studi S2 di prodi Magister Public Health peminatan gizi Universitas Gadjah Mada. Penulis sekarang tercatat sebagai Dosen Jurusan Gizi Poltekkes Kaltim dan Praktisi di Bidang Gizi. Penulis juga aktif sebagai pengurus organisasi gizi yaitu Persagi dan Pergizi Pangan Kalimantan Timur.

Penulis memiliki kepakaran di bidang Gizi dan Dietetika. Untuk mewujudkan karir sebagai dosen profesional, penulis pun aktif sebagai peneliti di bidang kepakarannya tersebut. Beberapa penelitian yang telah dilakukan didanai oleh internal perguruan tinggi dan juga hibah Kementerian Kesehatan. Selain meneliti, penulis juga aktif sebagai pembicara dan menulis buku dengan harapan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif bagi bangsa dan negara tercinta ini.
